Meet the Team

Principal: Hayley Batchelor-Hannah

Trained at Elliott-Clarke Theatre school and then at Merseyside Dance Centre, where she gained experience, dancing in many Professional shows and then went on to take all her teaching qualifications in Ballet, Tap and Modern.

Before settling down to teaching and also starting her own family, Hayley travelled the world on cruise ships and dancing in Theatres all over the country. She then went on to choreograph many Professional Productions , including Musicals and pantomimes with many of today’s stars.

Her wealth of experience is passed on to her pupils with the same care and passion that she applies to her professional life.

Principal: Alistair Hannah

Comes from a musical background and started his professional career singing when he was just 11, appearing on Scottish Television’s shows ‘The One O’clock Gang’ and ‘Roundup’

He then went from strength to strength singing in cabaret and Theatres with such people as Billy Connolly, Jasper Carrot, Ronnie Corbet, Tom O’Connor and many more. He has performed on many cruise ships and worked in South Africa on many occasions.

Still diversifying, Alistair then honed his Acting skills by appearing in Musicals and Pantomimes in Theatres all around the country.

Together, Hayley and Alistair, formed Palindrome Productions, producing ‘Showstoppers’ a musical extravaganza, for Butlins and  Southport Floral Hall and The exclusive Trust House Forte resort in Sardinia, to name but a few.

Tracey Batchelor

Tracey went to Drama College, gaining many LAMDA qualifications including Gold in Acting and A.T.C.L in Trinity Guildhall.

She then danced abroad gaining her Equity Card. She returned to this country to appear in Channel 4’s long running ‘soap’ Brookside as Michelle Jones where she stayed for three years.

She then worked in the Theatre for the next few years, only stopping to have a family.

Gill Fleming

Gill trained at Elliott-Clarke Theatre School in Liverpool, where she gained her Associates in Ballet, Tap and Modern. She then taught at Elliott-Clarke’s, training many students for a career in Dance and Drama, before joining the team here at the The Formby School.

Jenna Rushton

Jenna graduated from North Liverpool dance Academy, holding certificates in dance education in Ballet, Tap and Modern. Her teaching career began here at The Formby School, where she has taught for the last seven years. During this time, Jenna has also travelled to America, where she worked as Dance Director for a summer camp in Maine and also studied Street Dance at many workshops throughout the country.

She is now at Liverpool Hope University; where she is studying a BA Honours Degree in Contempory dance and Physical Theatre.

 

Mrs Batchelor (our Mum)

Mrs ‘B’ started her career dancing at the age of sixteen. She appeared in theatres with such stars as Roy Castle, Morcambe and Wise and Arthur Askey.

Still keeps her hand in coaching children for exams and making costumes for many of our productions.
